Welcome

To submit your proposal for Rule of Thirds, visit www.meetnorth.com.

North is a programme of events and activities aimed at inspiring creative professionals to do things differently. Itʼs taking place in Cumbria throughout 2009 and 2010, as part of the AND (Abandon Normal Devices) festival.

The programme aims to explore innovative and progressive approaches to creative working, influenced by digital technology and new methodologies. we want to inspire debate about the impact of digital culture on creative workflow and explore its affect on how we create, communicate and collaborate.

The programme also seeks to offer alternative approaches for the creative industry sector by exploring and learning from wider industry.

Discussion will not be focused on any one, particular industry or discipline. Instead, the programme will take inspiration from a wide breadth of industry, and the application of new ideas and technology: work ethics, news media, social inclusion, healthcare, education, housing, empowerment, politics, entertainment, entrepreneurship, etc, to discover new models for creation which will enable creative professionals to develop new work, products, programmes or devices for a new digital era.

As for the conception this primary moment is the convergence of sperm and ovum, in the celestial realm it s what is called ‘the big bang’, an unexplained fraction of infinitesimal time that represents infinite energy in a singular… Continue
